Regular Season Round 4: Promitheas - AEK 79-69

Date: October 27, 2018
The game in Patras was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers AEK (2-2) played at the court of seventh ranked Promitheas (2-2). Promitheas defeated AEK 79-69 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AEK. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 42-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Promitheas made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international Leonidas Kaselakis (202-90) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Langston Hall (193-91, college: Mercer, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side Canadian guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes (193-94, college: Florida St.) responded with 17 points (made all of his eight free throws) and American Vincent Hunter (203-94, college: UTEP) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four AEK players scored in double figures. AEK's coach Luca Banchi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Promitheas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated AEK. Promitheas will meet bottom-ranked Cretan Kings (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AEK will play against Holargos (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
