Regular Season Round 4: AZS Koszalin - Spojnia 68-74

Spojnia Stargard has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Koszalin, where they defeated AZS Koszalin (0-4) 74-68 on Saturday. Strangely AZS Koszalin outrebounded Spojnia Stargard 43-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. AZS Koszalin was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Anthony Hickey (180-92, college: Oklahoma St., agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds and guard Marcin Dymala (187-90) who added 16 points during the contest. Four Spojnia Stargard players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Drew Brandon (193-92, college: E.Washington) responded with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian power forward Marko Tejic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spojnia Stargard (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. It was AZS Koszalin's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Spojnia Stargard will face higher ranked Anwil (#7) in Wloclawek in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AZS Koszalin will play on the road against Polpharma (#5) in Starogard Gdanski and hopes to get finally their first victory.
