Regular Season Round 7: Recy Saint-Martin - Boulogne 63-91

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked SO Maritime Boulogne and 10th ranked Recy Saint-Martin had identical 2-4 record. But Recy Saint-Martin was not able to use a home court advantage and was outplayed by the opponent from Boulogne-sur-Mer 91-63 on Saturday night. SO Maritime Boulogne dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Recy Saint-Martin's 26. SO Maritime Boulogne looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for British-Canadian guard Kyle Johnson (195-88, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Blacktop Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) helped adding 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four SO Maritime Boulogne players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Calvin Jubenot (197-86) scored 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for SO Maritime Boulogne. They moved-up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with ALS Basket and Charleville. Newly promoted Recy Saint-Martin keeps the tenth position with five games lost. SO Maritime Boulogne will face higher ranked Besancon (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Recy Saint-Martin will play against Kaysersberg (#14) and hope to win that game.
