Regular Season Round 5: L'Hospitalet - Menorca 72-85

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Menorca (1-4) defeated on the road higher ranked L'Hospitalet (2-3) 85-72 on Saturday. Menorca made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. L'Hospitalet was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Richaud Pack (191-92, college: Maryland) who scored 18 points. Forward Gabriel Torres (198-89) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Five Menorca players scored in double figures. Georgian center Shota Gelazonia (205-94) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Joan Creus (185-92) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Menorca maintains eleventh place in Silver with 1-4 record. Loser L'Hospitalet dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Menorca will face higher ranked Moron (#9) in Morón de la Frontera in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
