There was no surprise when 14th ranked Andorra (2-4) was defeated at home by fifth ranked CB Canarias (4-2) 96-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by CB Canarias. Andorra was better in second period 24-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Guinea-Bissau-American center Colton Iverson (212-89, college: Colorado St., agency: Pensack Sports) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Javier Beiran (200-87) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Canadian-Jamaican point guard Dylan Ennis (187-91, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) with 18 points and American-FYR Macedonian center Shayne Whittington (211-91, college: W.Michigan) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CB Canarias maintains fifth position with 4-2 record. Andorra lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with four games lost. CB Canarias will face Zaragoza (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Andorra will play against the league's second-placed Real Madrid and hope to win that game.
