Regular Season Round 5: Alvik Basket - Visby 80-69

Date: October 27, 2018
Bottom-ranked Visby Ladies is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to leader Alvik Basket (5-0) 80-69. The game was mostly controlled by Alvik Basket. Visby Ladies was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alvik Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The best player for the winners was international forward Paula Juhlin (184-91) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Elin Ljunggren (185-96) chipped in 26 points. Alvik Basket's coach Fotios Ioannidis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Branndais Agee (180-94, college: Michigan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the other American import forward Jasmine Weatherspoon (188-95, college: Ohio) added 13 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Alvik Basket. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with A3 Basket. Visby Ladies lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Alvik Basket's next round opponent will be IK Eos (#6) in Lund which should be theoretically an easy game.
