Regular Season Round 6: Naron - Leon 67-81

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Naron (0-3) lost at home to eighth ranked Leon (2-1) 81-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Leon. Naron was better in second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for swingman Marcos Fernandez (191-99) who led his team to a victory with 27 points. Point guard Pablo Ruiz (182-97) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Leon players scored in double figures. American guard Michael Scarlett (193-95, college: Claremont-Mudd) replied with 32 points and power forward Daniel Garcia (207-94) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Naron. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leon moved-up to third place in Group A-B, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Naron still closes the standings with three games lost.
