Regular Season Round 6: Goierri - Univ.Burgos 56-90

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Goierri (1-2) was smashed at home by top-ranked Univ.Burgos (3-0) 90-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Univ.Burgos. Goierri was better in third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Univ.Burgos dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Goierri's 28. They outrebounded Goierri 42-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Angolan-Polish center Julio De-Assis (203-92) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Nacho Garcia (187-88) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Univ.Burgos players scored in double figures. Guard Aitor De-Miguel (186-83) replied with 18 points and Inigo Lasa (-98) added 15 points in the effort for Goierri. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Univ.Burgos have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group A-A leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Goierri dropped to the seventh place with two games lost.
