Regular Season Round 7: AIK Basket - IK Eos 98-96

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Superettan took place in Solna. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked IK Eos (3-4) to fourth ranked AIK Basket (3-2) 98-96 in the game for the fourth place. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 34-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. AIK Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for naturalized Turkish guard Erkan Inan (195-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds, 14 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Serkan Inan (201-86) helped adding 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side guard Gustav Sundstrom (197-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Adrian Thorangen (195-93, college: Cuesta JC) scored 24 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. IK Eos' coach Axel Wallin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AIK Basket maintains fourth place with 3-2 record. IK Eos lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. AIK Basket are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Lulea (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. IK Eos will play against Hogsbo (#8) in Goteborg and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
