Regular Season Round 5: San Martino - Scrivia 53-61

Not a big story in a game in San Martino di L where 11th ranked San Martino (2-3) was defeated by fifth ranked Scrivia (4-1) 61-53 on Saturday. Center Clara Salvini (180-92) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and swingman Irene Pieropan (175-91) chipped in 16 points. Guard Alice Milani (170-99) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and forward Chiara Meroi (180-1) scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Scrivia maintains fifth place in A2 with 4-1 record. Loser San Martino dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Scrivia will face Milano (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. San Martino will play against Marghera in Venezia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
