We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 15th ranked Omnia Basket (1-4) was defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked Siena Virtus (1-3) 68-62 on Saturday. Swingman Federico Bianchi (190-90) stepped up and scored 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and power forward Stefano Simeoli (204-86) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Siena Virtus' coach Maurizio Tozzi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Andrea Iannilli (207-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Giulio Mascherpa (185-92, agency: Interperformances) scored 20 points. Siena Virtus left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place in B. Loser Omnia Basket dropped to the fourteenth position with four games lost. Siena Virtus will face higher ranked Montecatiniterme (#13) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
