Important game to mention about took place in Verona. Thirteenth ranked UCC Piacenza (2-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Tezenis VER (2-3) 89-87 in the game for the eighth place. Naturalized Nigerian forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and point guard Gherardo Sabatini (181-94) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Jazzmarr Ferguson (185-89, college: IU Southeast) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Giovanni Severini (197-93) scored 19 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Five UCC Piacenza and four Tezenis VER players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. UCC Piacenza moved-up to eighth place in A2. UCC Piacenza will face higher ranked GSA Udine (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tezenis VER will play against De Longhi TRV in Treviso and hope to win that game.
