Regular Season Round 9: Hitachi SR - Yokohama BC 79-84

There was a small surprise in Tokyo where sixth ranked Yokohama BC (3-6) defeated 6th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (1-8) 84-79 on Saturday. Yokohama BC made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game, while Hitachi Sunrockers only scored six points from the stripe. Hitachi Sunrockers were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Javon McCrea (201-92, college: Buffalo) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. International point guard Ryo Tawatari (180-93, college: Dominican, CA) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who recorded 26 points and 6 assists and Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) added 20 points and 4 blocks respectively. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Yokohama BC moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Akita NH. Hitachi Sunrockers lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Yokohama BC will have a break next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play again at home against Yokohama BC (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
