Regular Season Round 4: Jilin NE T. - Shanghai S. 102-109

Everything could happen in Changchun at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Sharks and 9th ranked Jilin Tigers had identical 2-1 record. But Jilin Tigers were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Shanghai 109-102 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Sharks looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) who helped to win the game recording 32 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Sharks players scored in double figures. Sharks' coach Qiuping Liu used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) added 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds in the effort for Jilin Tigers. Sharks (3-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Jilin Tigers dropped to the tenth position with two games lost. Sharks will face Jiangsu Dragons (#10) in Nanjing in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jilin Tigers will play on the road against Golden Bulls in Hangzhou and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
