An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Den Bosch. Third ranked Den Bosch faced one of their biggest challengers Leeuwarden. Host Den Bosch (4-1) smashed guests from Leeuwarden (3-2) 97-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leeuwarden. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Den Bosch dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Leeuwarden's 36. Den Bosch forced 23 Leeuwarden turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Leeuwarden's players. The former international center Nick Oudendag (210-87) fired 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Steven Cook (196-94, college: Princeton) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Oudendag is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Den Bosch's coach Ivica Skelin felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Griffin Kinney (203-95, college: Appalachian St., agency: Court Side) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import David Michaels (201-90, college: Whitman) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Den Bosch moved-up to second place, which they share with Groningen. Leeuwarden at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Den Bosch is looking forward to face Leiden (#4) at home in the next round. Leeuwarden will play against the league's leader Zwolle and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
