Regular Season Round 4: Wuhan - Sichuan 66-85

Bottom-ranked Wuhan is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to tenth ranked Blue Whales (2-2) 85-66 on Saturday evening. Blue Whales dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Wuhan's 32. They outrebounded Wuhan 43-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points and 19 rebounds and forward Xuetong Zhao (185-94) supported her with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Blue Whales' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 16 points by Biao-Biao Han did not help to save the game for Wuhan. Swingman Jun Yuan (180-88) added 9 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Blue Whales moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Wuhan still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Blue Whales will meet at home Dragons (#9) in the next round. Wuhan will play against Flame (#7) in Taiyuan and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
