Regular Season Round 5: Koshigaya A. - Tokyo Excel. 81-84

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Koshigaya A. (7-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Tokyo Excel. (7-1) 84-81. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Koshigaya A.. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tokyo Excel. have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Koshigaya A. lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Koshigaya A. Tokyo Excel. is looking forward to face Kagoshima (#7) in Renova in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Koshigaya A. will play at home against Gifu Swoops (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
