Very important is a road loss of third ranked Basket Esch (4-2) against seventh ranked Musel Pikes (3-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Basket Esch was defeated by Musel Pikes in Stadrbredimus 83-73. It was a good game for American power forward Bridget Yoerger (180-87, college: S.Dakota) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Cathy Schmit (170-90) contributed with 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Ellie Thompson (185-95, college: S.Dakota St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and German center Nadine Grieb (184-87) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Basket Esch. Musel Pikes maintains seventh position with 3-3 record. Basket Esch at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Musel Pikes will play against higher ranked Contern (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Basket Esch will play against the league's leader T71 Dudelange where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
