Regular Season Round 4: Korihait - Kouvot 95-88

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Uusikaupunki where 9th ranked Kouvot (1-3) was defeated by tenth ranked UU-Korihait (2-4) 95-88. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-17. But Kouvot won third quarter 29-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UU-Korihait players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Mario Edwards (191-88, college: Co.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import forward Brandon Conley (201-93, college: ORU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international Ville Kaunisto (204-82, agency: Court Side) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and American Brian Asbury (201-86, college: Miami, FL) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kouvot. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kouvot's coach Jyri Lehtonen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. UU-Korihait moved-up to seventh place. Kouvot at the other side dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
