Regular Season Round 4: Tresnjevka - Medvescak 62-68

Tresnjevka (3-1) recorded its first loss in Zagreb on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked ZKK Medvescak (3-1) 68-62. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tresnjevka. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-12. But Tresnjevka won third quarter 20-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when ZKK Medvescak won last quarter 14-10. They also forced 24 Tresnjevka turnovers and had a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Tresnjevka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Anja Majstorovic (184-94) fired 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Iva Todoric (174-93) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Four ZKK Medvescak players scored in double figures. ZKK Medvescak's coach Braslav Turic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maria Estela produced 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Nika Muhl (178-1) added 10 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Tresnjevka. ZKK Medvescak is looking forward to face Brod na Savi (#11) in Slavonski Brod in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tresnjevka will play on the road against Sibenik (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
