Regular Season Round 6: LKS MG13 Lodz - KK Warszawa 94-83

There was a minor upset when higher ranked KK Warszawa (3-3) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked LKS MG13 Lodz (3-3) 94-83 on Sunday. LKS MG13 Lodz dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to KK Warszawa's 26. They outrebounded KK Warszawa 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. KK Warszawa was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Filip Tonkiel (197-90) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Patryk Wal (197-94) chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. LKS MG13 Lodz's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was swingman Michal Wojtynski (193-89) with 26 points and forward Patryk Jankowski (197-98) scored 19 points. Five LKS MG13 Lodz and four KK Warszawa players scored in double figures. LKS MG13 Lodz have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated KK Warszawa. KK Warszawa lost third consecutive game. LKS MG13 Lodz will face league's second-placed Tur Bielsk Pdl. in Bielsk Podlaski in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KK Warszawa will play at home against Nadarzyn and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the 1Liga just one year after relegation.
