We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Firenze where 4th placed San Miniato (3-2) was defeated by leader Fiorentina (3-0) 76-68 on Sunday. Fiorentina outrebounded San Miniato 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. San Miniato was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Nicola Savoldelli (184-97, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and swingman Riccardo Iattoni (198-92) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Ferdinando Nasello (194-95) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Dominican point guard Alberto Benites (183-97) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fiorentina moved-up to third place in B. Loser San Miniato keeps the fourth position with two games lost.
