Regular Season Round 10: Hitachi SR - Yokohama BC 77-73

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (2-8) defeated 5th ranked Yokohama BC (3-7) in Tokyo 77-73 on Sunday. Hitachi Sunrockers made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Yokohama BC only scored three points from the stripe. Hitachi Sunrockers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Yokohama BC was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach Geoffrey Katsuhisa used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Amanze Egekeze (203-95, college: Belmont) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Masashi Hosoya (173-89) added 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Yokohama BC. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Hitachi Sunrockers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shiga L-Stars. Loser Yokohama BC dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face league's second-placed Chiba Jets on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Yokohama BC will play against the league's second-placed Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
