Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Cartagena (0-3) lost at home to third ranked Gandia (3-1) 94-86 on Sunday. Gandia well out of reach of Cartagena shooting 93.8 percent from the field and made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game. Cartagena was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Carlos Gil (185-93) who led his team to a victory with 19 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Forward Martin Bello (195-97) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Five Gandia players scored in double figures. Gandia's coach Victor Rubio used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. FYR Macedonian point guard Kiril Panov (188-0) replied with 29 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Sudanese-American forward Aluk Adub (198, college: Florida Memorial) added 24 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Cartagena. Gandia moved-up to second place in Group E-B, which they share with Jairis. Loser Cartagena still closes the standings with three games lost.
