Very expected game when 6th ranked L'Horta Godella (1-3) lost to second ranked Benicarlo (3-1) in Castellon 63-71 on Sunday. Benicarlo outrebounded L'Horta Godella 46-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Romeo Smith (201, college: Missouri Valley) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Serbian Dragan Maric (-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Benicarlo players scored in double figures. Benicarlo's coach Jordi Adell used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. David Carrascosa replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Daniel Zafon (179-95) added 13 points in the effort for L'Horta Godella. Newly promoted Benicarlo maintains second position in Group E-A with 3-1 record behind leader Lliria, which they share with Valencia II. L'Horta Godella lost third consecutive game. L'Horta Godella at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with three games lost.
