Very expected game when 12th ranked Catania Alfa (1-4) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Olimpia Matera (4-1) 81-68 on Sunday. Naturalized Argentinian power forward Enzo Damian Cena (200-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Daniele Merletto (175-93) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. Olimpia Matera's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Alessandro Agosta (204-84) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Alessandro Florio (195-96) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five Catania Alfa players scored in double figures. Olimpia Matera moved-up to third place in B, which they share with Vicenza. Newly promoted Catania Alfa dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Olimpia Matera will face Palermo GB (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Catania Alfa will play against Viola RC in Reggio Calabria and hope to win that game.
