Regular Season Round 5: Correcaminos - Laguneros 98-94

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Laguneros (3-3) against sixth ranked Correcaminos (1-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Laguneros were defeated by Correcaminos in a tough game in Ciudad Victoria 94-98. Correcaminos dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Laguneros' 40. The best player for the winners was international guard Jose-David Estrada (194-94, college: High School, agency: Pro Sports) who scored 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized American forward Aaron Perez (196-86, college: Oklah.Baptist) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Correcaminos' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) produced 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Correcaminos maintains sixth place with 1-3 record. Newly promoted Laguneros keep the third position with three games lost. Correcaminos' next round opponent will be league's leader Mineros and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
