Universitarias' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after nine consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Atletico (3-7) 58-43. Universitarias held Atletico to an opponent 21.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 25.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Universitarias brought some defensive toughness making 12 blocks. The best player for the winners was swingman Diobelis Batista who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Valeria Batista chipped in 8 points, 18 rebounds and 9 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Yamila Jonas who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and S Martinez added 7 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Atletico's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Newly promoted Universitarias maintains sixth position with 1-9 record. It was Atletico's third loss in a row. Atletico at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost.
