Regular Season Round 4: HoNsU - Rocks 77-99

Date: October 28, 2018
Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Helsinki: Rocks (#2) and HoNsU (#6). HoNsU was smashed at home by 22 points 77-99 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Rocks. HoNsU managed to win fourth quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to HoNsU's 38. They outrebounded HoNsU 52-34 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rocks looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Eelis Uitto (186-1) who scored that evening 24 points and 7 rebounds and forward Juhani Jokio (195-0) supported him with 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Rocks players scored in double figures. Even 27 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals by guard Tiitus Kuukkanen (193-0) did not help to save the game for HoNsU. Swingman Mete Kaya (192-2) added 12 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rocks (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Loser HoNsU dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
