Regular Season Round 5: Shanxi - Wuhan 99-69

Everything went according to plan in Taiyuan where seventh ranked Flame (4-1) outscored bottom-ranked Wuhan (0-5) 99-69 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Wuhan 46-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. Flame looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Wuhan's players. Wen Qi stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners and point guard Tongtong Wu (176) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Flame's coach Georgios Dikeoulakos felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Jing Fu (180-96) responded with 24 points and Jiayun Liu scored 14 points and 4 steals. The victory was the third consecutive win for Flame. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Wuhan lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Flame will face Dragons (#10) in Harbin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Wuhan will play on the road against Beijing Great Wall (#5) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
