Everything could happen in Chengdu at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Blue Whales and 9th ranked Dragons had identical 2-2 record. This time Blue Whales used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Harbin 75-68 on Tuesday night. Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Fangzhu Gong (170-91) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. American forward Monique Billings (193-96, college: UCLA) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds and Jiayu Liu scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Blue Whales (3-2) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hebei and Xinjiang. Loser Dragons dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Blue Whales will face Liaoning Hengye (#14) in Anshan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dragons will play at home against Flame (#4) and hope to win that game.
