Very expected game in Montevideo where 12th ranked Verdirrojo (1-3) was defeated by second ranked Defensor (5-1) 87-77 on Tuesday. Defensor outrebounded Verdirrojo 45-32 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Verdirrojo was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Anthony-Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Andres Dotti (185-93) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Defensor players scored in double figures.
