Regular Season Round 5: B.Cearense - Franca 82-91
Date: October 31, 2018
Bottom-ranked SKY/Basquete (0-5) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to third ranked Vivo/Franca (4-1) 91-82 on Wednesday evening. Vivo/Franca shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) who scored 25 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). International forward Lucas Silva (209-95) chipped in 19 points. Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. The former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Dontrell Brite (175-94, college: Mount Olive) added 19 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Vivo/Franca have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Pinheiros. Loser SKY/Basquete still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Brasilia. Vivo/Franca will meet bottom-ranked Brasilia (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. SKY/Basquete will play against Paschoalotto/Bauru and hopes to get finally their first victory.
