Sixth ranked Minas (3-1) crushed at home 9th ranked Vasco Da G. (2-3) by 28 points 93-65, which is the biggest margin this round on Wednesday night. Minas looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Vasco Da G.'s players. American forward Sam Daniel (203-96, college: Florida Tech) stepped up and scored 37 points (!!!) for the winners and the former international point guard George-Yeye Torres (188-91) chipped in 6 points and 11 assists. Germerson Barbosa (202-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Eduardo Machado (193-82) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Minas moved-up to fourth place. Loser Vasco Da G. keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Minas will face higher ranked Pinheiros (#3) in Sao Paulo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
