The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Grasshoppers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Grasshoppers defeated 6th ranked Den Helder in Katwijk 79-73. They outrebounded Den Helder 38-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Evelien Lutje (183-0) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Ingrid Van-der-Plas (178-91) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Grasshoppers players scored in double figures. Grasshoppers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International guard Maaike Klein (177-90) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Sarah Curran (180-95, college: Drexel, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points in the effort for Den Helder. Grasshoppers have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Den Helder at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Jolly J.. Den Helder will play next round against Jolly J. trying to get back on the winning streak. Grasshoppers will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Loon Lions at Landsmeer.
