Bottom-ranked Torpan Pojat is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to ninth ranked Tapiolan Honka (2-5) 80-68. The game was mostly controlled by Tapiolan Honka. Torpan Pojat was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Torpan Pojat 47-32 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Sidney Cook (188-94, college: Virginia Tech) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Minna Mali (165-97) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Tapiolan Honka players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Ladondra Johnson (178, college: Young Harris) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Laura Saarinen (186-92) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Torpan Pojat's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tapiolan Honka maintains ninth position with 2-5 record. Newly promoted Torpan Pojat still closes the standings with six games lost. Tapiolan Honka will play against higher ranked ViVe (#6) in Vimpeli in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Torpan Pojat's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Helsinki Helmi Basket.
