Regular Season Round 3: Ameghino - Tiro Federal 78-79

A very interesting game took place in Villa Maria. It ended with only one-point home defeat of Ameghino (1-4) to BHY Tiro Federal (3-2) 79-78 on Friday evening. 27 personal fouls committed by Ameghino helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for swingman Bruno Oprandi (190-85) who saved his team from a defeat with 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Nahuel Paciotti (183-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Swingman Mateo Gaynor (199-90) answered with 25 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Juan-Luis Abeiro (195-88) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Ameghino. Ameghino's coach Pablo Castro tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. BHY Tiro Federal's next round opponent will be Barrio Parque in Cordoba and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ameghino will play at home against Sportivo America (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
