Regular Season Round 8: Uppsala - Boras 84-113

Date: November 2, 2018
The game between 10th ranked Uppsala Basket (1-9) and fifth ranked Boras Basket (7-3) in Uppsala on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Boras outscored Uppsala Basket 113-84. The game was mostly controlled by Boras Basket. Uppsala Basket managed to win second period 33-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by forward Simon Gunnarsson (198-95) who scored that evening 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward William Gutenius (205-92) supported him with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Boras Basket's coach Henrik Svensson felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 26 points (on 13-of-14 shooting from the field) by DR Congolese-French forward Eric Katenda (206-92, college: N.Texas) did not help to save the game for Uppsala Basket. Swingman Axel Nordstrom (193-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Boras Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with BC Lulea. Uppsala Basket lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Boras Basket will meet at home Umea (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Uppsala Basket will play against the league's leader Sodertalje Kings and hope to win that game.
