There was no surprise in Turun where 6th ranked HNMKY (2-3) was defeated by third ranked Kristika Turku (4-1) 77-64. The game without a history. Kristika Turku led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kristika Turku outrebounded HNMKY 47-30 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Eero Lehtonen (195-98) nailed 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and forward Tomi Lommi (194-96) accounted for 18 points. Four Kristika Turku players scored in double figures. Forward Sami Tahvanainen (195-98) came up with 9 points and 5 rebounds and guard Tuure Takala (185-93) added 10 points respectively for HNMKY in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kristika Turku maintains third place with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader Lahti. HNMKY at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Kristika Turku's next round opponent will be ToPo Juniorit (#4) in Helsinki. HNMKY will play at home against Jyvaskyla BA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
