Regular Season Round 6: Limbazi - Gulbenes Buki 85-78

There was a change at the LBL2 leadership position after last games. The most important game of round 6 took place in Limbazi between two undefeated teams where Limbazi beat Gulbenes Buki (5-1) 85-78 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Gulbenes Buki. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Gulbenes Buki trailed by 21 points at halftime and as many as 24 after three quarters before a 32-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 78-85 at the end of the game. Limbazi looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 29 personal fouls committed by Gulbenes Buki helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Armands Osins (190-91) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Peteris Rekis (197-93) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Limbazi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Ingars Aizpurs (195-92) with 10 points and 7 rebounds and forward Janis Dilevka (199-88) scored 11 points. Limbazi (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Saldus and Turiba. Gulbenes Buki at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with RSU. They were replaced at the leadership position by Turiba. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
