Regular Season Round 7: Sant Josep - Andorra II 117-72

Everything could happen in Badalona at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Sant Josep and 7th ranked Andorra II had identical 3-3 record. This time Sant Josep used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Andorra 117-72 on Saturday night. Sant Josep dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Andorra II's 34. Sant Josep forced 20 Andorra II turnovers and outrebounded them 46-27 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sant Josep looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Andorra II's players. It was a great evening for forward Eduard Boja (196-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Miquel Fons (185-98) helped adding 18 points and 5 assists. Four Sant Josep players scored in double figures. Sant Josep's coach Sergi Vives felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Latvian point guard Valters Veveris (188-0) responded with 24 points and Bosnian guard Sani Campara (189-99) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sant Josep. They moved-up to fourth place in Group C-B, which they share with Arenys and JAC Sants. Loser Andorra II keeps the seventh position with four games lost. Sant Josep will face Palma II (#13) in S'Arenal in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Andorra II will play at home against Castelldefels (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
