Regular Season Round 9: Saint Vallier - Recy Saint-Martin 103-66

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Saint Vallier (7-2) crushed at home 10th ranked Recy Saint-Martin (3-6) 103-66 on Saturday. Saint Vallier dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Recy Saint-Martin's 36. They outrebounded Recy Saint-Martin 46-23 including a 32-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Saint Vallier looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Recy Saint-Martin's players. It was a good game for point guard Rida El-Amrani (184-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Senegalese-Spanish center Maodo Nguirane (210-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Five Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. American forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Adrien Thimon (188-94) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Recy Saint-Martin. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Saint Vallier. They maintain third place in Group A with 7-2 record behind leader Challans. Newly promoted Recy Saint-Martin dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Saint Vallier will face Aubenas (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Recy Saint-Martin will play against Feurs EF and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
