Regular Season Round 12: Toyotsu FE - Tokyo HT 91-68

No shocking result in a game in Nagoya where second ranked Toyotsu FE (9-3) outleveled 4th ranked Tokyo HT (3-9) 91-68 on Saturday. Toyotsu FE dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo HT's 44. They outrebounded Tokyo HT 40-27 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Toyotsu FE looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) who added 24 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Toyotsu FE's coach Ryuji Watanabe felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and forward Takafumi Asano (192-85) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Toyotsu FE maintains second position with 9-3 record behind leader Shinshu BW, which they share with Kumamoto V. Newly promoted Tokyo HT dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Toyotsu FE will face again Tokyo HT (#5) at home in the next round.
