An interesting game for Tokyo Cinq R. (5-5) which hosted in Tokyo one of their biggest challengers Saitama Broncos (5-5). Third ranked Tokyo Cinq R. had an easy win 92-70. Tokyo Cinq R. dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Saitama Broncos' 26. American center Joe Wolfinger (216-85, college: Citadel) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Senegalese Bira Seck (204-90, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Five Tokyo Cinq R. players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds by American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) did not help to save the game for Saitama Broncos. His fellow American import Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) added 16 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tokyo Cinq R. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 5-5 record having four points less than leader Koshigaya A., which they share with Saitama Bron. Tokyo Cinq R. will meet Iwate Big Bulls (#6) on the road in the next round. Saitama Broncos will play against the league's second-placed Tokyo Excel. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
