There was no surprise in Inowroclaw where 10th ranked AZS UMK Torun (2-5) was crushed by third ranked Notec Inowr. (5-2) 107-82 on Saturday. Notec Inowr. made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. Notec Inowr. outrebounded AZS UMK Torun 59-38 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. AZS UMK Torun was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Wojciech Zurawski (202-76) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 20 rebounds for the winners. Damian Szczepanik (198-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Radoslaw Plebanek (190-85) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Zbigniew Malinowski (188-84) added 14 points and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Notec Inowr.. They maintain third place in Group A with 5-2 record behind leader Zubry. Loser AZS UMK Torun keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Notec Inowr. will face Ogniwo Szczecin (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. AZS UMK Torun will play against Arka II and hope to win that game.
