No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Leganes (3-2) crushed at home 11th ranked Granada (1-4) 83-60 on Saturday. Leganes shot 24 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Granada only scored eight points from the stripe. Granada was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-U.S. Virgin Islands guard Imani Tate (175-95, college: Albany) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points. Center Daira Varas (193-89) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Leganes players scored in double figures. American forward Maryah Sydnor (185-93, college: Appalachian St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Pilar Arrivi (-90) added 17 points in the effort for Granada. Granada's coach Quique Gutierrez already knew that her team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Leganes moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with 4 other teams. Granada lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with four games lost. Leganes will face De La Torre (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Granada will play against Picken Claret and hope to win that game.
