Regular Season Round 7: Katy Wroclawskie - Gimbasket WRC 71-81

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Katy Wroclawskie (3-4) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Gimbasket WRC (3-4) 81-71 on Saturday. Gimbasket WRC made 37-of-46 free shots (80.4 percent) during the game, while Katy Wroclawskie only scored ten points from the stripe. Katy Wroclawskie was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Luka Malachow (184-94) fired 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Michal Pietrzak (199-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Four Gimbasket WRC players scored in double figures. Swingman Grzegorz Kaczmarek (193-83) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Michal Lipinski (185-86) added 8 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Katy Wroclawskie's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gimbasket WRC moved-up to eighth place in Group D, which they share with defeated Katy Wroclawskie. Gimbasket WRC will face higher ranked Sudety (#7) in Jelenia Gora in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
