Regular Season Round 7: PBB - Ponferrada CDP 68-99

No shocking result in a game in Porrino where leader Ponferrada CDP (4-0) outleveled 6th ranked PBB (2-2) 99-68 on Saturday. Ponferrada CDP dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to PBB's 42. They outrebounded PBB 50-28 including a 33-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American Sean Mcdonell who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Canadian swingman Taevaunn Prince (191-91, college: Missouri So.) helped adding 21 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Alejandro Vicente responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Lucas Vaquero (185-89) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ponferrada CDP. They keep a position of Group A-B leader, which they share with Estudiantes L. Newly promoted PBB dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Ponferrada CDP will face Culleredo (#5) at home in the next round. PBB will play against Chantada and hope to win that game.
