The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Aaguacateros as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Aaguacateros defeated 3rd ranked Abejas in Michoacan 82-67. Aaguacateros made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Abejas turnovers. Colombian guard Michaell Jackson (190-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 4 steals. Eduardo Gonzalez (-89) contributed with 13 points and 9 assists for the winners. American swingman Zack Irvin (198-94, college: Michigan) replied with 16 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) added 8 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Abejas. Aaguacateros have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Abejas at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Laguneros. Abejas will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Aaguacateros will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Abejas in Guanajuato.
