There was an upset when higher ranked Boulazac (4-4) was defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (3-5) 69-61 on Saturday. Pau-Lacq-Orthez shot 62.2 percent from the field. Pau-Lacq-Orthez outrebounded Boulazac 28-12 including a 24-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Florian Pouaveyoun (203-99) who scored 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Power forward Thibault Daval-Braquet (210-97) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Forward Dylan Affo-Mama (196-99) produced 15 points and forward Mylfusse Damba (200-98) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Boulazac's coach Bertrand Parvaud rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Boulazac dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will face Le Portel (#16) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
